What's Included

What an ADA Retrofit Covers

Compliance is more than a grab bar — clearances, mounting heights, insulation, and controls all get inspected.

Accessible Fixture Relocation

Water closets, lavatories, and urinals moved to compliant clearances and mounting heights with new carriers and rough-in.

Lavatory Protection & Controls

Insulated supply and drain wraps, lever or sensor faucets, and compliant operating force on every accessible fixture.

Single-User & Family Restrooms

Converting multi-stall layouts to compliant single-user or family restrooms when floor space is tight.

Fixture Modernization

Low-flow water closets, urinals, and faucets that cut water use while meeting accessibility requirements.

Water Temperature Compliance

Thermostatic mixing valves and point-of-use limiters to hold accessible lavatories at safe delivery temperatures.

Phased, Occupied-Building Work

One restroom at a time, after-hours shifts, and temporary facilities so the building never loses service.

Our Process

How We Phase Retrofit Work

1

Field Survey

We measure existing clearances, rough-in locations, and slab conditions to find what actually has to move.

2

Scope & Budget

A line-item scope separating code-required work from optional modernization so you can stage the spend.

3

Permit & Schedule

Permits pulled with the local AHJ and work windows set around your occupancy and business hours.

4

Build & Inspect

Demo, rough-in, set, and finish — then a passed inspection and photo documentation for your compliance file.

ADA Retrofit FAQ

Can you keep the restroom open during a retrofit?

We typically take one restroom offline at a time and work nights or weekends when a facility only has a single set. Temporary facilities can be arranged for larger conversions.

Do you handle the permit and inspection?

Yes. We pull the plumbing permit with your local AHJ, coordinate inspections, and hand over documentation when the work passes.

Will moving a floor-mounted water closet require breaking the slab?

Often yes. We core and saw-cut cleanly, reroute the DWV, and patch the slab back — or we use wall-hung carriers where the wall depth allows it.

Serving the Greater St. Louis Area

Retrofits & ADA Upgrades Across the St. Louis Metro

Accessibility upgrades come up constantly in the St. Louis metro's older building stock — Clayton office towers, University City storefronts, Webster Groves schools, and South City rehabs all carry rough-in that predates current requirements.

We've retrofit restrooms in occupied buildings from Kirkwood and Maryland Heights to St. Peters and Arnold, working the hours the tenant needs instead of the hours that are easy.

Don't see your city below? We work the entire metro and a 2-hour radius from O'Fallon, MO. View full service area →
