New Dental Office Plumbing — St. Louis Metro
Design-Build Dental Plumbing & Medical Gas from Underground Through Trim
Project Overview
| Location | St. Louis Metro |
|---|---|
| Building type | Healthcare / Dental |
| Scope | Healthcare / Dental — Design-Build New Construction |
| Delivery method | Design-Build |
Legacy Plumbing self-performed the ground-up plumbing and medical gas systems for a new dental office in the St. Louis metropolitan area. The design-build engagement covered underground utilities, above-slab rough-in, medical gas, and finish plumbing.
The project ran as a design-build engagement, so plumbing layout was worked out with the owner and architect before the drawings were final. Design-assist coordination covered fixture locations, operatory rough-in and the routing for medical gas and dental vacuum.
Work followed the normal ground-up sequence. Underground sanitary, storm and domestic water service went in first, ahead of the slab. Above the slab, crews roughed in the multi-operatory plumbing, then ran the NFPA 99 medical gas and dental vacuum systems. Finish work included the water heater, backflow protection and the fixture trim.
Dental offices combine standard commercial plumbing with healthcare systems in a small footprint. Carrying underground, rough-in, medical gas and trim with one self-performing contractor keeps those systems coordinated from the first trench to the last fixture.
This project is an example of our dental & healthcare plumbing work, with scope that also falls under medical gas plumbing.
